A90 North of Forfar | Resurfacing

Scheme Summary

Scheduled:
19-27 March 2023
Summary:
Road Surfacing Improvements

SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS ON A90 NORTH OF FORFAR BEGIN SUNDAY 19th MARCH

A section of the A90 travelling northbound, north of Forfar, is set to benefit from a road surfacing improvement project worth more than £830,000.

Amey is undertaking essential maintenance on the A90 northbound carriageway between West Mains of Finavon and Milton of Finavon from Sunday 19th March to Monday 27th March.

The resurfacing project, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will address defects on 560 metres of the northbound carriageway, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.

A lane closure is in place on the northbound carriageway until 6.30am on Friday 17th March to carry out drainage works ahead of the resurfacing works.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the road surfacing improvements will be carried out using a contraflow system.

Traffic management will be implemented from 7.30pm on Sunday 19th March to allow the contraflow to be set up, with resurfacing work set to begin from 7.30pm on Monday 20th March.

Work is scheduled to be completed by 6.30am on Monday 27th March.

During the contraflow there will only be southbound access to and from Milton of Finavon Junction. For northbound access traffic should proceed through the contraflow and turn to take the southbound carriageway or use local routes as required. Oathlaw Junction will be closed, with access from Bogindollo Junction.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
